A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport and Logistics Professional to join a leading engineering support services company and become the Head of Fleet Operations.
The role will be based in the Chatham office and will see you heading up the motor transport and logistics operations across the fleet.
Key responsibilities include: Strategic development and focus on the contract, development and implementation of logistics policies and procedures to ensure legislation and contract requirements are met. Provide positive leadership to the transport operations and be responsible for contract compliance.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills: Proven track record of operational management in a large transport organisation. Sound knowledge of multi categorised fleet, including PSV, HGV and plant machinery. Knowledge of driver hours and working patterns, change management and leadership are essential for this role as head of the logistics fleet. Ideally Degree level or equivalent vocational qualifications.
Skills and Competencies: Ability to take a strategic view across all levels, able to work under pressure in a changing environment. You must have strong knowledge of motor transport legislation, computer literate and be results focused. You will be very competent at communication, planning and be able to innovate when needed.
