Creativity and commercial flair are two important aspects that recruiters look for when there are vacancies for media jobs. Candidates that have an uninhibited ability to reach a mass of people with a powerful advertising message or news release are great assets to media companies.
There are different levels of media jobs that are available to applicants and the level of responsibility that is involved will usually dictate the academic requirements that are needed. Degrees in advertising, journalism, business administration, statistics, communication, English or marketing are usually the preferred requirements to get media jobs. Candidates that have an impressive portfolio and proven success in past media jobs are given preferences in this industry. Other requirements include:
